Human Rights Watch is proud to present a powerful evening of words and music. This year we give voice to people from around the world who face tyranny – personal or political – in their daily lives.

The performers include George Alagiah, Claire Bloom, Simon Callow, Julie Christie, Joanna Lumley, Ian McKellen, Joe Mydell, Antony Sher (co-patron), Patti Smith, Juliet Stevenson, Patrick Stewart, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Roger Waters, Rudolph Walker and Richard Wilson.*

We would like to thank Ariel Dorfman, Seamus Heaney, Doris Lessing, Colm Toibin and Derek Walcott for either writing something new or choosing something specific especially for the evening.
